Hello
I am Ordained Minister, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO, and has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. David has a degree in theology and has periodically participated in Christian ministry over the past twenty years in multiple facets. In 2016 He returned to school and obtained a Degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph.
My Story
After completing my degree in theology, I encountered the Socratic quote, "The unexamined life is not worth living." This quote transformed my perspective on understanding life and its influence on others. Living an examined life means being self-aware—recognizing motivations, emotions, thoughts, and reactions. This self-awareness not only helps us comprehend ourselves better but also fosters empathy towards others. Additionally, being mindful of ourselves enhances our roles as friends, partners, neighbours, and community members. By cultivating self-awareness, we can reduce the negative impact of unconscious behaviours on those around us. Realizing the significance of this mindset has been pivotal in shaping my journey to where I am today.
My Approach
I specialize in Anger Management, Trauma and Addictions, Premarital, and Couples Counselling. The approaches utilized are research based interventions which include Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic, Narrative, and other approaches to meet the needs of each unique individual. I also offer faith-based counselling, and wedding ceremony services.
